How To Perform Cat Cow Stretch

  1. Get into an all-fours position on the floor. Place your hands directly under your shoulders and your knees under your hips, aligning your spine in a neutral position. Keep your gaze toward the floor.
  2. Inhale (Cow pose) as you open your chest and lower your abdomen toward the floor, gently extending your spine. At this time, let your gaze move naturally forward or slightly upward.
  3. Exhale (Cat pose) as you draw your navel toward your spine, tuck your chin, and round your back to flex the spine. Avoid excessive tension in the shoulder blades and lower back, and move smoothly.
  4. Slowly repeat the Cow and Cat movements in sync with your breathing.
