How To Perform Barbell Standing Calf Raise

  1. With the barbell on the back of your shoulders, stand on a pad with steps.
  2. With your feet hip-width apart, position your heels off the floor.
  3. Slowly raise your heels as high as possible. At this point, pause for a while as if you are squeezing your calf muscles.
  4. Slowly lower your heels and return to the starting position.
